• Welcome to LARISSA HAHN FICTION, a free collection of micro and short fiction exploring the suspenseful moments hidden in life's everyday monotony.

The beauty of short stories lies in their ability to capture these fleeting yet profound glimpses of emotion that reveal our shared humanity. It's like a handcrafted chocolate truffle: devoured in moments, but its richness lingers.

Here's how my stories are organised by word count:

Micro fiction: Up to 500 words

Flash fiction: Up to 1000 words

Short stories: Up to 5,000 words

  • I'm an economist-turned-author, German-born and London-based. I recently experienced the pleasure — and pain — of finishing my debut novel, Pentimenti: What We Paint Over.

After that demanding voyage, I now find myself returning to the precise art of short fiction, where every word must earn its place.

I'd love to hear from you! Whether it's a quick reaction ("this reminded me of...") or a deeper reflection on how a story resonated with you, your thoughts will help make this a true conversation about storytelling.
